I CALL YOU FROM FRIENDS, LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAYS

I CALL YOU FROM FRIENDS, LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAYS
The reason for so many deaths was due to their sin. Because they were sinners, they deserved the punishment of death. In this case, another type of fanaticism is shown: the so-called "saints", "pure", called impeccable, "friends" of themselves, men who think not to suffer the same fate of the Galileans for not deserving such punishment, as if they were more important, full of privileges and arrogance. In this mentality, crime serves as an indicator of the misery deserved by the sinner; and, moreover, create an imperial religious form. For Jesus this is terrible, it is a true deformation of intelligence and religion. While they think in this way, they can not perceive the damage caused by the injustices of those who govern, the power play, the massacre of innocents, and, in a way, the favoring of the culture of death. One must therefore fight at all costs for life.
2. Salvation is not a personal choice at all. No one is saved by complying with established laws, all rites, and all that is required to be done. All this is important, but many do all this thinking about themselves: in having honors, being respected, applauded, showing oneself as holy, immaculate, perfect among other things. Salvation is, first and foremost, God's initiative, his choice, his decision. Only later is man's response. Salvation depends, then, on the first action of God and the response of the human being. It does not happen by simple compliance, but by the total conversion of the person to God. To convert oneself is to change one's mind, to leave the logic of the world and to embrace the logic of God absolutely, to be of God, to turn to him, to love him deeply, to recognize himself as sinful, imperfect, but capable and overcome with his grace. The converted man does not cling to honors, but to a deep life of intimacy with God. Only then will such a man bear fruit.
3. The disciple must be prepared for the decisive moment. His life on earth is not eternal. To change life is the right road, renounce evil and seek to fulfill the Lord's will, loving Him with all our heart. When you least think, you will leave this world. Jesus expects us to convert immediately. It is now the moment of the change of mentality, of letting go of the inhuman way of thinking of the world and embracing the reality thought by Jesus himself. The fig tree, Israel, because it did not produce the expected fruit was cut in the 70s AD. And we, are we bearing fruit?
4. The time of the fig tree corresponds to the years of Jesus' preaching. The fact of still insisting on the fig tree indicates the total saving desire of God, which reaches the absurdity of waiting for something humanly impossible, which is a fruitless fig tree. Even if it seems absurd, Jesus bets on the change of people's lives. He sympathizes with everyone and accepts the intervention of that farmer (who can be any of his saints), thus marking the great novelty in the work of salvation, as well as participation of all. God "needs" humans to save humans. The great question that remains is this: And the fig tree began to bear fruit? When will we have the answer? Certainly in the daily life of our lives the answer can be found.
A strong and affectionate hug.
