HAVE TRUST IN THE LORD AND IN YOUR LOVE

HAVE TRUST IN THE LORD AND IN YOUR LOVE

"Come to me, all of you who are tired and weary under the weight of your burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me." Indeed, it is not by going to the authorities of Israel, who impose heavy burdens on the shoulders of the simple, that the people find rest, meaning, and liberation. In fact, no authority in this world can liberate anyone. Jesus Christ does not want to be a burden, an unbearable burden, but the Way, the Truth and the true Life, the liberation of all. Those who approach Him find tenderness, mercy, the possibility of liberation, and the true meaning of their existence. For their part, the authorities of Israel did not respect the fragility of the simple people, did not give them much credit, did not take into account all their needs. On the contrary, they imposed a very harsh law on this people, full of so many knots, almost impossible to break. The people neither understood so many laws nor actually practiced them. Jesus offers the purest understanding of God's Law and places Himself as the sole condition of salvation, leaving all His will to absolutely love God and neighbor the way He loved.

2. "Come to me". Creation and salvation happen through the Son. By Him all was created, by Him also all will be saved. Salvation cannot be thought of without Jesus: "No one comes to the Father except through me." The encounter with Jesus is necessary for the restoration of the person and the discovery of his own identity. Since Jesus is the New Man, the Perfect Man, it enables man, who is with Him, to see his future, what he should be, what he was created for. Moreover, upon meeting Jesus, man will surely become aware of his creature reality, fragile, limited, and in need of God's mercy; understand that it is not perfect, but made to perfection; who is no one's lord, but a brother among the brothers; that can not everything, but that was created to serve in the construction of a new world; which is a gift from God but hidden in its own misery.

3. Man must meet the Savior. In the context of the text there were oppressions, exploitation of the simplest, misrepresentation of power, arrogance, play of lies, struggle for important positions, strong family name people, enforcing their name at all costs, even having to tread the simplest, executioners of the faith; many using the name of God to manipulate others, to have them under their own command, deceiving with false religiosity, imposing heavy burdens, only to profit at the expense of the innocent, the little ones of the Lord. Today happens the same way. The man has not learned anything yet. The name of Jesus is used, with a false religious expression of humility and holiness, aiming at the continuity of his life turned to himself, attached to the worldly honors, the earthly, the praises of a rotten society. Man must truly change, choose the path of total surrender of himself to the Lord and his will.

4. Those who are tired and fatigued are all those who can no longer stand so much injustice, so much mischief, so much neglect, so much lies and so much exploitation of their dignity and strength. They are all starving, marginalized, set apart from society, family, superb religion, social rights and faith. I say of faith, because many are no longer receiving a visit from their pastor, holy communion, confession, the sacraments in general; They have no right to a good explanation of God's Word. This can be called a crime against the salvation of God's little ones.

5. Really, only Jesus is the meek and humble, the perfect and the new. It is urgent that each one has an encounter with Him. Both those who suffer the consequences of the tyrannies of the world and the tyrants must all seek salvation, especially the suffering. Only in Christ will man find meaning to fight, to meet the challenges of time, of himself and of his family; to fight against personal tendencies, against himself, and against everything that separates him from God; only in Christ will each one become free, even in daily difficulties, to live worthily God's call to a new life and indeed to be a gift for the construction of a fraternal world.

A strong and affectionate hug.
