CONVERSION. LET US BE OBEDIENT AND PEACEFUL

CONVERSION. LET US BE OBEDIENT AND PEACEFUL

The Lord answered Job out of the midst of the storm and said: 8“Who closed the sea with gates when it gushed forth from his mother's womb, 9when I gave him clouds for garments and thick mists for sashes; 10when I marked its boundaries and set up doors and locks, 11and said, 'Here you will come, not beyond; here ceases the arrogance of your waves’?" Brethren, 14the love of Christ presses on us, as we believe that one person died for all and that, soon, all died. 15In fact, Christ died for all, so that the living may no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for them and rose again. 16So henceforth we do not know anyone according to human nature. And if we once knew Christ according to the flesh, now we don't know him like that. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. The old world has disappeared. Everything is new now. A great prophet has arisen, / has arisen and has shown himself among us; / it is God that his people visit, / his people my God has visited (Lk 7,16). – 35That day, at dusk, Jesus said to his disciples: “Let's go to the other bank!” 36They dismissed the crowd and took Jesus with them, just as he was, in the boat. There were still other boats with him. 37A very strong wind began to blow and the waves were rushing into the boat, so that the boat was already filling up. 38Jesus was in the back, sleeping on a pillow. The disciples woke him up and said, "Master, we are perishing and you don't care?" 39He got up and commanded the wind and the sea: “Silence! Shut up!" The wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40Then Jesus asked the disciples: “Why are you so afraid? Don't you have faith yet?” 41They felt great fear and said to one another, "Who is this, whom even the wind and the sea obey?" The Son of God, the one who can save us, wants our conversion, so that one day we may be with him in endless happiness.
