Blessed be God the Father, blessed be the only begotten Son and blessed be the Holy Spirit. God was merciful to us.
Blessed be the Creator Father, the Saving Son and the sanctifying Spirit. We are welcomed, loved and invited to be part of the Family of God. Let us joyfully celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, which presents to us and makes us live the mystery of God in communion. The profession of the Trinitarian faith is the sign that identifies us as Christians.
— Thus speaks the wisdom of God: 22 “The Lord possessed me as the firstfruits of his ways, before his works of old; 23 from eternity I was constituted, from the beginning, before the origins of the earth. 24 I was begotten when there were no deeps, when there were no springs of water, 25 before the mountains were established, before the hills I was born. 26He had not yet made the earth and the fields, nor the first traces of earth in the world. 27 When I was preparing the heavens, there I was; when I traced the vault over the abyss, 28 when I established the clouds above and restrained the fountains of the deep, 29 when I set its limits to the sea – so that the waters did not overflow its borders – and laid the foundations of the earth, 30 I was on the his side as a master builder; I was his delight day after day, playing all the time in his presence, 31 playing on the face of the earth and rejoicing to be with the sons of men.” - Word of the Lord.
Responsorial Psalm: 8
O Lord our God, how great is your name throughout the universe!
1. Contemplating these skies that you shaped / and formed with artist's fingers; / seeing the moon and bright stars, / we ask: “Lord, what is man, / that you remember him in this way / and treat him with such affection?” - R.
2. Thou hast made him little below God, / crowning him with glory and splendor; / you have given him power over everything, / your works have laid his feet. - R.
3. The sheep, the oxen, the flocks, / all the cattle and the wild beasts; / birds and fish of the seas, / every being that moves in the waters. - R.
Romans 5:1-5 – Brethren, 1justified by faith, we are at peace with God through the mediation of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2Through him we have access by faith into this grace, in which we stand and rejoice, in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, for we also boast of our tribulations, knowing that tribulation breeds constancy, 4 constancy leads to proven virtue, proven virtue blossoms into hope; 5and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. - Word of the Lord.
Gospel: John 16:12-15
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the divine Spirit, / to the God who is, who was and who is to come, for centuries. Amen (Rev 1:8). - R.
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John – At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you are not able to understand them now. 13But when the Spirit of truth has come, he will lead you into the full truth. For he will not speak of himself, but whatever he hears he will speak; and even the things to come he will declare to you. 14He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15All the Father has is mine. That is why I said that what he will receive and announce to you is mine.” – Glory to you, Lord our God.
