Jesus told his disciples: 24“In those days, after the great tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will no longer shine, 25the stars will begin to fall from heaven and the forces of heaven will be shaken. 26Then shall you see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27He will send the angels to the four corners of the earth and will gather the elect of God from one end of the earth to the other. 28Learn therefore from the fig tree this parable: when its branches turn green and the leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. 29So also, when you see these things happening, know that the Son of Man is near, at the doors. 30Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all this happens. 31Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 32As to that day and hour, no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father”. 1“At that time Michael the great prince will rise up, defender of the children of your people; and it will be a time of trouble, such as there has never been since the beginning of nations. But at that time your people will be saved, all who are inscribed in the book. 2Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awaken, some to eternal life, some to everlasting reproach. 3But those who have been wise will shine like the firmament; and those who have taught many men the ways of virtue will shine like the stars for all eternity.” I believe in one God, Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, / of all things visible and invisible. / I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only-begotten Son of God, / born of the Father before all ages: God of God, light from light, / true God of true God, / begotten, not created, consubstantial with the Father. / By him all things were made. / And for us men, and for our salvation, he came down from heaven: and he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit, / in the womb of the Virgin Mary, and became man. Also for us he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; / he suffered and was buried. / He rose on the third day, / according to the Scriptures, / and ascended into heaven, / where he is seated at the right hand of the Father. / And he will come again, / in his glory, / to judge the living and the dead; / and his kingdom will have no end. / I believe in the Holy Spirit, / Lord who gives life, / and proceeds from the Father and the Son; / and with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified: / he who spoke through the prophets. / I believe in the Church, one, holy, catholic and apostolic. / I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. / And I await the resurrection of the dead / and the life of the world to come. - Amen.
