Blessed be God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He has blessed us with all the blessing of his Spirit by virtue of our union with Christ in heaven. 4In Christ he chose us, before the foundation of the world, that we might be holy and blameless under his gaze, in love. 5He predestined us to be his adopted children through Jesus Christ, according to the decision of his will, 6to the praise of his glory and the grace with which he has filled us in his beloved. 7By his blood we are set free. In him our faults are forgiven, according to the riches of his grace, 8which God lavished on us profusely, opening us to all wisdom and prudence. 9He made known to us the mystery of his will, the benevolent plan that he determined beforehand in himself, 10to bring to fullness the established time and to recapitulate, in Christ, the entire universe: everything that is in the heavens and everything that is above the land. May the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ / give us the Spirit of knowledge; / so let us know the hope / to which he called us as a heritage. At that time, 7Jesus called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, giving them power over the unclean spirits. 8He recommended that they should take nothing for the way except a staff; no bread, no bag, no money around your waist. 9 He ordered them to wear sandals and not to take two tunics. 10And Jesus further said: “When you enter a house, stay there until your departure. 11If in some place they do not receive you, nor will they listen to you, when you go out, shake off the dust from your feet as a witness against them!” 12Then the twelve departed and preached that they should all be converted. 13They cast out many demons and healed numerous sick people by anointing them with oil.
