We need to love each other

We need to love each other
We want to be one day, before God in true happiness, so with friends we think of Christ. We live and fight for him.
Faced with a lack of faith, Jesus expresses a kind of "outburst" because these people still remain far from a true openness to God and his work of liberation. The mentality of the world is still very strong in them, making it impossible for them to see the presence of God in Jesus and his action. The main emphasis, then, lies on the question of faith, which must be understood as total adhesion to God and his saving work. Only truly believes who is free inwardly. As long as there are human slags, rationality of everything, personal pride, the gift of faith will always become distant.

3. The Father of the boy puts a trusting and humble conditional: "if you can ... have mercy on us and help us". Jesus' response demonstrates the need of faith for the liberation of man. It is well known that salvation is the action of God's initiative, but not without the cooperation of humanity. God acts, but man must give his free answer. "All things are possible to those who have faith," to those who are fully disposed to the will of God, to those who have learned to live according to the wisdom of the Lord, to whom he has made his life a true gift. Faith shows itself in the total gift of those who possess it. In Jesus' response there is a stimulus of identification with Him when He says, "If I can"! "All things are possible to him that believeth." Christ can be the Word made flesh, God among us, and also because, in His human condition, to be all to the Father, totally turned to God and for the good of those who need it. Certainly we are not divine by nature, but, like Jesus, we can turn totally to God and to the good of those who implore us for deliverance.

4. The disciples and the crowd did not have a faith according to Jesus' demand, but they discovered the need to ask for it with humility and insistence: "I have faith," said that father, "but it helps my lack of faith." Man is not perfect, but invited to perfection (Mt 5:48); is limited, moved by its inclinations, but at the same time essentially oriented to God. The more you invest in intimacy with God (prayer life), the more you join the Lord and the more you can become a real saving instrument for yourself and for others. Only by an authentic and profound life of prayer can the disciple continue the work of the Savior, who, in a simple gesture, healing this young man, revealed his power of resurrection, a gift that will also belong to his Church.

A strong and affectionate hug
