John 3:16-21
FIRST READING
The men you put in prison
They are in the Temple teaching the people!
Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 5:17-26
In those days,
17
the high priest stood up
and everyone in your party
- that is, the party of the Sadducees -
full of rage
18
and ordered the apostles to be arrested
and throw them in public jail.
19
However, during the night,
the angel of the Lord opened the prison doors
and made them go out, saying:
20
"Go and speak to the people in the Temple,
about everything that concerns this way of living".
21
They obeyed, and at dawn,
They entered the Temple and began to teach.
The High Priest arrived with his supporters
and summoned the Sanhedrin and the Council
formed by the important people of the people of Israel.
Then they sent for the apostles to be taken to prison.
22
But when they arrived at the prison,
the servants did not find them and returned saying:
23
"We found the prison closed, with complete security,
and the guards were stationed in front of the door.
But when we open the door,
We didn't find anyone inside."
24
Upon hearing this news,
the head of the Temple guard and the high priests
they didn't know what to think
and they wondered what could have happened.
25
Someone arrived and said to them:
"The men you put in prison
They are in the Temple teaching the people!"
26
Then the head of the Temple guard left with the guards
and brought the apostles, but without violence,
because they were afraid
for the people to attack them with stones.
Word of the Lord.
Acclamation to the Gospel
John 3:16
R. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
V. God the world loved so much,
who gave him his own Son,
so that whoever believes in him,
find eternal life.
GOSPEL
God sent his Son into the world
so that the world may be saved by Him.
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 3:16-21
16
God loved the world so much,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
lest everyone who believes in him perish,
but have eternal life.
17
In fact, God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world,
but so that the world may be saved by him.
18
Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe is already condemned,
because he did not believe in the name of the only begotten Son.
19
Now, the judgment is this:
the light came into the world,
but men preferred darkness to light,
because his actions were evil.
20
Who does evil
hates the light
and does not approach the light,
so that your actions are not reported.
21
But whoever acts according to the truth
approaches the light,
for it to manifest
that his actions are performed in God.
Word of Salvation.
