Gospel (Luke 24, 13-35)
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Lord Jesus, reveal to us the meaning of Scripture, make our hearts burn when you speak to us (Lk 24, 32).
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke.
24 35 And the two disciples told him what had happened to them in the way, and how they had recognized him at the breaking of bread.
36 While they were still speaking these things, Jesus stood in the midst of them and said to them, "Peace be with you!"
37 They were troubled and astonished, and thought they saw a spirit.
38 But he said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why are these doubts in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, it is I myself; touch and see: a spirit has no flesh or bones, as you see I have. "
40 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41 But when they were still hesitating, he asked, "Have you anything here to eat?"
42 And they offered him a piece of roasted fish.
43 He took and ate in their sight.
44 Then he said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you. It was necessary that all that is written in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms be fulfilled."
45 And he opened their minds to them, that they might understand the scriptures, saying,
46 "So it is written, and so it was necessary for Christ to suffer, but to rise again from the dead the third day.
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 Ye are the witnesses of all these things. "
