DANÇAS DO NORDESTE - AS DANÇAS REGIONAIS

Amidst acclamations, God rose, / the Lord ascended at the trumpet blast! All peoples of the universe, clap your hands, / shout to God acclamations of joy! / For sublime is the Lord, the most high God.///

Men of Galilee, why are you astonished, looking up to heaven? This Jesus will return, just as you saw him ascend, alleluia! (Acts 1.11)
In communion with Christians around the world, we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord, the fullness of Easter. Seated at the right hand of the Father, Jesus remains close to humanity and wants us to be his witnesses. On this World Communications Day, let us commit to being communicators who know how to listen to the calls of God and of our brothers and sisters.
First Reading: Acts 1:1-11
Reading from the Acts of the Apostles – 1 In my first book, O Theophilus, I have already dealt with all that Jesus did and taught, from the beginning 2 until the day he was taken up into heaven, after he had given instructions by the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3 It was to them that Jesus showed himself alive after his passion, with many trials. For forty days he appeared to them speaking of the Kingdom of God. 4 During a meal, he gave them this command: “Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the fulfillment of the Father's promise, which you heard me speak about: 5 'John baptized with water; but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit within a few days'”. 6Then those gathered together asked Jesus, “Lord, are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel now?” 7Jesus replied, “It is not for you to know the times and moments that the Father has determined by his own authority. 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9After saying this, Jesus was taken up into heaven in their sight. A cloud covered him so that his eyes could no longer see him. 10The apostles kept looking up to heaven as Jesus ascended. Then two men dressed in white appeared, 11 who said to them, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing here looking up at the sky? This Jesus, who was taken up to heaven for you, will come in the same way as you saw him go to heaven.” - Word of the Lord.

Responsorial Psalm: 46(47)
Amidst acclamations, God rose, / the Lord ascended at the trumpet blast!
1. All peoples of the universe, clap your hands, / shout to God acclamations of joy! / For sublime is the Lord, the most high God, / the sovereign who rules over all the earth. - R.
2. Amidst acclamations, God rose, / the Lord ascended at the trumpet blast. / Praise to our God to the sound of the harp, / sing to the sound of the harp, to our king! - R.
3. For God is the great king of all the earth, / at the sound of the harp accompany his praises! / God reigns over all nations, / he is seated on his glorious throne. - R.
Second Reading: Ephesians 1:17-23
Reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians – Brothers, 17 the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father to whom glory belongs, give you a spirit of wisdom that will reveal it to you and make it truly known. 18 May he open your hearts to his light, that you may know what hope his calling gives you, what riches of glory are in your inheritance with the saints, 19 and what great power he has exercised for us who believe, according to his action and omnipotent force. 20He manifested his strength in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavens, 21far above all authority, power, might, sovereignty, or any title that can be mentioned, not only in this world, but also in the world. future world. 22 Yes, he put everything under his feet and made him, who is above all, the head of the Church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who possesses the universal fullness. - Word of the Lord.
Gospel: Luke 24:46-53
Go into the world, teach all peoples; / I will be with you always, / until the end of time, says Jesus (Mt 28,19f). - R.
Conclusion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke - At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 46 " Thus it is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day 47 and in his name will be proclaimed the conversion and the forgiveness of sins to all nations, beginning with Jerusalem. 48You will be witnesses of all this. 49 I will send the one my Father has promised upon you. Therefore, stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” 50 Then Jesus took them outside to Bethany. There he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51While he was blessing them, he withdrew from them and was taken up to heaven. 52They worshiped him. Then they returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53And they were always in the temple, blessing God. – Word of salvation. GLORY TO YOU LORD.

Origem do Handebol
