First Reading: Isaiah 40,25-31

Reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah – 25 “With whom will you compare me, and to whom would I be equal?”, says the Saint. 26Lift your eyes high and see: who created all this? He who expresses in numbers the army of the stars and calls each one by name: such is the greatness and strength and power of God, that none of them misses the call. 27So why do you say, Jacob, and why do you say, Israel: “My life is hidden from the sight of the Lord, and my judgment escapes the judgment of my God”? 28Are you ignorant or did you not hear? The Lord is the eternal God who created the ends of the earth; he neither fails nor grows weary, his wisdom is unfathomable; 29he gives courage to the helpless and increases the strength of the weakest. 30Children get tired and stop, young people stumble and fall, 31but those who hope in the Lord renew their strength, they grow wings like eagles, they run without getting tired, they walk without stopping. - Word of the Lord.

Primeira Leitura: Isaías 40,25-31

Leitura do livro do profeta Isaías – 25“Com quem haveis de me comparar, e a quem seria eu igual?”, fala o Santo. 26Levantai os olhos para o alto e vede: quem criou tudo isso? Aquele que expressa em números o exército das estrelas e a cada uma chama pelo nome: tal é a grandeza e força e poder de Deus, que nenhuma delas falta à chamada. 27Então, por que dizes, Jacó, e por que falas, Israel: “Minha vida ocultou-se da vista do Senhor e meu julgamento escapa ao do meu Deus”? 28Acaso ignoras ou não ouviste? O Senhor é o Deus eterno que criou os confins da terra; ele não falha nem se cansa, insondável é sua sabedoria; 29ele dá coragem ao desvalido e aumenta o vigor do mais fraco. 30Cansam-se as crianças e param, os jovens tropeçam e caem, 31mas os que esperam no Senhor renovam suas forças, criam asas como as águias, correm sem se cansar, caminham sem parar. – Palavra do Senhor.
