May we all have health and peace through the name of our brother Jesus Christ, who is God with the Father and the Holy Spirit. May we be better to have eternal life, when this world passes.

Reading of the Acts of the Apostles 6:8-15

In those days, 8 Stephen, full of grace and power, He performed wonders and great signs among the people. 9 But some members of the so-called Synagogue of the Freedmen, together with Cyrenians and Alexandrians, and some from Cilicia and Asia, They began to argue with Estêvão. 10 However, they were unable resist the wisdom and Spirit with which he spoke. 11 So they bribed some individuals, who said: "We heard this man saying blasphemies against Moses and against God." 12 In this way, they incited the people, the elders and doctors of the Law, who arrested Stephen and took him to the Sanhedrin. 13 Then they presented false witnesses, who said: "This man never stops talking against this holy place and against the Law. 14 And we hear him assert that Jesus of Nazareth I was going to destroy this place and I was going to change the customs which Moses handed down to us." 15 All who sat in the Sanhedrin their eyes were fixed on Stephen, and they saw his face as the face of an angel. GOSPEL Strive not for the food that is lost, but by the food that endures until eternal life. Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 6,22-29 After Jesus had satisfied the five thousand men, His disciples saw him walking on the sea. 22 The next day, the crowd that had been on the other side of the sea found that there was only one boat and that Jesus had not gone up to it with the disciples, but that they had gone away alone. 23 Meanwhile, other boats had arrived from Tiberias, near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. 24 When the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, got on the boats and they went looking for Jesus in Capernaum. 25 When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him: "Rabbi, when did you get here?" 26 Jesus replied: "Truly, truly, I say to you: you are looking for me not because you saw signs, but because you ate bread and were satisfied. 27 Strive not for the food that is lost, but for the food that endures until eternal life, and which the Son of Man will give you. For this is the one the Father has marked with his seal.” 28 Then they asked: "What must we do to accomplish the works of God?" 29 Jesus replied: "The work of God is that you believe in the one he sent."
