Manifest his glory among the nations, and among the peoples of the universe his wonders! For God is great and very worthy of praise***

Responsorial Psalm: 95(96) Announce among the nations the great deeds of the Lord! 1. Sing to the Lord God a new song, † sing to the Lord God, O whole earth! / Sing and bless his holy name! – R. 2. Day after day, announce his salvation, † manifest his glory among the nations / and, among the peoples of the universe, his wonders! – R. 3. O family of nations, give to the Lord, † nations, give to the Lord power and glory, / give him the glory that is due to his name! – R. 4. Publicize among the nations: “The Lord reigns!” † He established the universe unshakable, / and the peoples he judges with justice. – R. Gospel: Luke 10,1-9 The Spirit of the Lord rests upon me / and sent me to proclaim the Gospel to the poor (Luke 4:18). – R. Proclamation of the holy Gospel according to Luke – At that time, 1st the Lord chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them two by two, ahead of him, to every city and place where he himself should go. 2And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, I asked the owner of the harvest to send workers to harvest. 3Behold, I send you as lambs among wolves. 4Do not take bags, bags or sandals and do not greet anyone along the way! 5Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be in this house!’ 6If a friend of peace lives there, your peace will rest upon him; if not, it will come back to you. 7Stay in that same house, eat and drink whatever you have, because the worker deserves his wages. Don't go from house to house. 8When you enter a city and are welcomed, eat what they serve you, 9heal the sick in it and say to the people, 'The kingdom of God is at hand'”. – Word of salvation. Reflection: Just as the Twelve were sent on a mission in Galilee, Jesus now sends the seventy-two (or seventy) disciples to evangelize Judea. There are seventy, like the people that made up humanity, a sign that the Good News must extend to the entire world. Stripped of security and comfort, they go ahead of Jesus to prepare for his arrival. This is the meaning of the entire apostolate of the Church, since it is Jesus who must occupy the center of the mission. They must also bring peace to hostile environments (sheep among wolves), but not waste time with people of ill will (cf. v. 6). Their task is the same as that of Jesus: to announce the Good News of the Kingdom and heal the sick. They will feel that the work to be done is immense, so they should ask God for more missionaries for the great work of expanding the Kingdom.
