Happy is he who trusts himself to God!

1. Happy is everyone who does not walk / according to the advice of the wicked; / who does not enter the path of the wicked / nor will he sit next to scoffers; / but he finds his delight in the law of God / and he meditates on it day and night without ceasing. - R.

2. Behold, he is like a tree / which is planted by the stream's edge; / it always bears its fruit in its season, † and its leaves will never wither. / Behold everything he does will prosper. - R.

3. But the lot of the wicked is quite another. † On the contrary, they are like dry straw / scattered and dispersed by the wind. / For God watches the way of the elect, / but the way of the wicked leads to death.

At that time, 17 Jesus came down from the mountain with the disciples and stopped on a level place.
