Jesus performs miracles and exorcisms as signs of the presence of the Kingdom of God.

Jesus performs miracles and exorcisms as signs of the presence of the Kingdom of God. Such signs indicate new times for humanity, because God has made himself present among us, as one of us, speaking to us as friends. Jesus Christ reveals that the Kingdom of God is the total liberation of man, and Christ himself is our liberation. The Kingdom of God is Jesus himself acting for our salvation.

2. The Kingdom of God, in Jesus, eliminates the kingdom of Satan, giving freedom to man. Jesus brings with him the final victory. The power of evil is defeated by the power of good (cf. Is 49:24-25). Diseases and demons are expelled by the power of God in Jesus, who is the strongest man, the victor of the final battle (cf. Lk 11:22). It is important to emphasize that Jesus Christ is the one through whom everything was created; he is also the one through whom everything was saved. There is neither creation nor salvation without it being through HIM. Creation takes place through Him; through Him comes the liberation of what was created. There is no salvation outside of Him. 3. Man is called to make a profound decision: either with Jesus or without Jesus. Man’s choice will determine his future of salvation or condemnation, of freedom or imprisonment. The presence of Jesus Christ is the definitive reality for the future of humanity. By choosing Christ, man reaches the future envisioned by God for him: to become a son in the Son, to be a participant in the very life of God; by denying Christ, man will continue under the dominion of Satan in an increasingly worse state until he reaches the annulment of himself by the devil. Man finds himself in God, discovers himself and becomes human through Jesus Christ, the perfect man; by denying Christ, man will never know who he is and will become increasingly animalized. 4. He who has become free from evil must remain alert, vigilant at all times. Only in Jesus can he always win; he cannot let his guard down. The Christian lives in constant struggle against evil, with his eyes fixed on Christ, persevering in the choice he has made, determined in the good he must do, vigilant in relation to himself. He must never forget that Satan has already been defeated with the cross of Christ, but he is fierce, an illusionist, a liar and a deceiver. The attentive Christian will always be ready for combat and will win through total adherence to Christ in every moment of his life.
