At that time, Jesus passed through a plantation on a Saturday. His disciples were hungry and began to pick ears of corn to eat. 2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, "Look, your disciples are doing what is not permitted to be done on the Sabbath!" 3 Jesus answered them, "Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? 4 How he entered the house of God and they all ate the loaves of the offering, which neither he nor his companions were permitted to eat, but only to the priests? 5 Or have you never read in the Law, that on the Sabbath day, in the Temple, the priests violate the Sabbath without incurring any guilt? 6 Now I tell you: here is one greater than the Temple. which means: 'I want mercy and not sacrifice', you would not have condemned the innocent 8 Indeed, the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath."
En aquel tiempo, Jesús pasó por una plantación un sábado. Sus discípulos tuvieron hambre y comenzaron a recoger espigas para comer. 2 Cuando los fariseos vieron esto, le dijeron: "Mira, tus discípulos están haciendo lo que no está permitido en sábado". 3 Jesús les respondió: "¿Nunca habéis leído lo que hizo David cuando él y sus compañeros tuvieron hambre? 4 Cómo entró en la casa de Dios y todos comieron los panes de la ofrenda, que ni a él ni a sus compañeros se les permitía comer, sino sólo a los sacerdotes? 5 ¿O nunca habéis leído en la Ley, que en el día de reposo, en el templo, los sacerdotes violan el sábado sin incurrir en culpa alguna? 6 Ahora os digo: aquí hay uno mayor que el templo. que significa: 'Quiero misericordia y no sacrificio', no habrías condenado al inocente 8 En verdad, el Hijo del Hombre es señor del sábado."
