Knowledge of Jesus and his teachings occurs through openness to Him, his words and his life.

Knowledge of Jesus and his teachings occurs through openness to Him, his words and his life. It is not enough to know the whole world and the science of men. It is not enough to know the Commandments and be a master in Israel or in the Greek world or in any university in the world. In rejecting Jesus, both Jewish and pagan leaders move further and further away from God and sink into tremendous blindness. The "masters" of the world get tangled up in their own ideas, rust at their intellectual limits and die choking on their own theses, unhappy with the fact that they have found the truth. On the other hand, as they truly prepare to listen to what Jesus has to say, they certainly begin not only to see more, but they also acquire the possibility of identifying with the Truth. The opposite also happens, because as they become insensitive to the teachings of Jesus, their ignorance of the mysteries of God increases absurdly and they come closer to their own dehumanization.

Jesus calls His disciples Blessed, for the very fact that they “see and hear” Him who was indicated by the righteous prophets, prepared in the Old Testament, and who exists in the promises directed to the Messiah Jesus Christ. A clear example is Simeon, who at the moment of the presentation of the boy Jesus, exclaims: “Now, Sovereign Lord, you can dismiss your servant in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in the presence of all people, and the glory of your people Israel” (Luke 2:29-32). The disciples are the Lord's little ones, the sheep sent among the wolves, those who put their lives and their dreams in God's hands and let themselves be guided exclusively by Him, despite fear, personal and external difficulties. The Jews are fixated on the attitude of refusing Christ and his Church; they become indifferent to Jesus and his achievements; They do not allow themselves to enter into the mystery of the teachings of the Nazarene. Unbelief closed their souls to God. The crowds, in turn, interested in satisfying their needs, did not penetrate the substantial content of Jesus' preaching; they behaved negatively in the face of the salvific message; On their part, there was a search for Jesus and a rejection of Him at the same time: a search for what interested them, and a rejection of what He really wanted for them. To be honest, there was, on the part of both Jews and pagans, a strong indifference to the message taught by Jesus. They closed their eyes and ears to her, not caring except the miracles, which served as signs for some. Jesus, experiencing missionary failure, reveals, more clearly, the secrets of the Kingdom to His disciples: “For knowledge of the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven has been given to you, but it has not been given to them”. Jesus prepares His disciples for a great mission: to bring the Beatitudes to all peoples; enforce the Law of God according to the meaning given by God himself and not according to human conceptions; put into practice the experience of love until its ultimate consequences; and invert the logic of the world, highlighting the logic of emptying oneself for the good of others. Indeed, Jews and pagans would not understand, as many do not understand to this day, such teaching, which is lovingly embraced by those who are true disciples of Jesus. Like fertile soil, the disciples have dispositions to understand the Master's teachings, while the others follow infertile roads, that is, spiritual experiences that inhibit the enchantment and understanding of the Word of God. The Sower acts carefree. As he sows, part of the seeds fall on different types of land. The act of sowing is free, carefree, decisive and confident. The act of sowing can be attributed to God, to Christ and to each disciple. The sower acts in such a way that every land or, more precisely, every human being, in the freedom he possesses, assumes that seed and fights for it at any cost or, simply, rejects it, or even wants to fight for it, but not so carefully, letting her die. The important thing is that whoever sows does so with total conviction and fearlessness, detachment and obedience to God's will.
