My soul glorifies the Lord”. The “song of Mary” is actually taken from the Old Testament, a part of 1Sm 2,1-11 and some verses of psalms. For many biblical scholars, it is a song composed after the Resurrection of Jesus, attributed, firstly, to the “virgin” Israel, according to its condition of poverty, humiliation and contempt by other nations. When the first Christians realized that Jesus was, truly, the expected Messiah, they had no doubts about the divine action in magnifying the “virgin” Israel, who would forever be called “blessed”. Luke, in the light of the Spirit of God, understood that it was a song totally focused on the reality of the “Virgin” (1,27), Mother of the Messiah, through whom God made himself present in the world. In Luke, there is no possibility of being the Mother of the Glorious God if she is not fully clothed in the same glory. 2. It is not only a song of thanksgiving, but also and especially a hymn that highly reveals God's action in favor of the simplest and the requirement of the condition of servant on the part of those who place themselves at the disposal of the Lord's will. This hymn shows the victory and joy of the humble open to God's action, the realization of the Lord's power in favor of suffering humanity and the presence of God in history. And on the lips of the Virgin Mary, servant of the Lord, it found its greatest meaning and expression, considering that she is a sign of the New and Eternal Covenant, totally available to the will of the Father, absolutely HIS and TINY, the purest, most simple, humble and humble of God's creatures. Luke immediately saw this reality, seeing in Mary the smallest servant of the Lord.

3. Mary did not make herself what she became, but became what God wanted her to be. She was made a gift from God to us, an obedient, faithful, simple and humble servant, an “open door to paradise”, a temple, a living sanctuary of the Eternal Word made flesh. She, on the other hand, allowed herself to be guided by the will of the Beloved God, her charm, her reason for being, her happiness. At no time did she allow herself to be caught up in the “charms” of the world and its illusions, but, on the contrary, by throwing herself completely into God’s Plan, she wanted the best for the world, that which only God could offer, that which only Heaven has to give: salvation. Mary lived in the world, but did not allow the world to live within her; she used the world, but did not allow herself to be used by it; she walked in the world, but allowed the world to make its way into her soul; she lived in the world, but did not allow the world to dwell within her. Her entire being belonged absolutely to God. And we, are we capable of proclaiming that we are a charm to God? Are we joyful Christians? Do we really have faith? Is Mary, as the mother of the Lord, welcome in our home? Do we have doubts about its importance in the Church? Are we aware that we are in the world, but should we not have the world within us? Does the world still dominate us? Are we, in fact, totally of God? What are we truly?
