Hail, O Christ, image of the Father, communicate to us the full truth! V. Cast away all your iniquity! Create within yourselves a new spirit and a new heart!

FIRST READING I will make them a single nation. Reading of the Prophecy of Ezekiel 37,21-28 21 Thus says the Lord God: "I myself will take the Israelites from among the nations where they went, I will collect them from everywhere and bring them back to their land. 22 I will make them a unique nation in the country, on the mountains of Israel, and only one king will reign over them all. Never again will two nations form, nor will they be divided into two kingdoms again. 23 They will no longer stain themselves with their idols and they will never again commit infamous abominations. I will free you from all sin that they committed in their infidelity, and I will purify them. They will be my people and I will be their God. 24 My servant David will reign over them, and there will be one shepherd for them all. They will live according to my precepts and they will keep my laws, putting them into practice. 25 They will live in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your parents lived; there they too will dwell forever, with your children and grandchildren, and my servant David will be your prince forever. 26 I will make a covenant of peace with them, it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and multiply them, and I will place my sanctuary in their midst forever. 27 My address will be with them. I will be their God and they will be my people. 28 So the nations will know that I, the Lord, I sanctify Israel, for my sanctuary to be among them forever." Word of the Lord. Responsorial psalm Jer 31,10.11-12ab.13 (R. cf. 10d) A. The Lord will guard us like a shepherd his flock. 10 Hear, O nations, the word of the Lord * and announce it to the most distant islands: "Whoever scattered Israel will gather them, * and he will guard him like a shepherd over his flock!" R. 11 For indeed the Lord redeemed Jacob * and freed him from the power of the arrogant. 12a They will return to Mount Zion, † amid shouts and songs of joy * B will flow to the blessings of the Lord: R. 13 Then the virgin will dance happily, * both the young and the old will rejoice; I will change her mourning into joy, * I will be consolation and comfort after the war. A. Acclamation to the Gospel Ez 18:31 R. Hail, O Christ, image of the Father, communicate the full truth to us! V. Cast away all your iniquity! Create within yourselves a new spirit and a new heart! GOSPEL And also to gather into unity the scattered children of God. Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 11:45-56 In that time, 45 many of the Jews who had gone to Mary's house and when they saw what Jesus had done, they believed in him. 46 But some went to the Pharisees and they told what Jesus had done. 47 Then the high priests and the Pharisees gathered the Council and said: "What will we do? This man performs many signs. 48 If we let it continue like this, everyone will believe him, and the Romans will come and will destroy our Holy Place and our nation." 49 One of them, called Caiaphas, high priest in office that year, said: "You don't understand anything. 50 Don't you realize that it's better for just one person to die for the people? than perish the whole nation?" 51 Caiaphas did not say this for himself. Being high priest in office that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation. 52 And not just for the nation, but also to gather together the scattered children of God. 53 From that day on, authorities Jews made the decision to kill Jesus. 54 That's why, Jesus no longer walked in public among the Jews. He withdrew to a region near the desert, to the city called Ephraim. There he remained with his disciples. 55 The Passover of the Jews was near. Many people from the countryside had gone up to Jerusalem to purify yourself before Easter. 56 They were looking for Jesus and, when they gathered in the Temple, they commented among themselves: "What do you think? Won't he come to the party?" Word of Salvation.
