CAMOCIM CEARÁ
Bem-aventurados os mansos, porque eles herdarão a terra;
Bem-aventurados os que têm fome e sede de justiça, porque eles serão fartos;
Bem-aventurados os misericordiosos, porque eles alcançarão misericórdia;
Bem-aventurados os limpos de coração, porque eles verão a Deus;
Bem-aventurados os pacificadores, porque eles serão chamados filhos de Deus;
Bem-aventurados os que sofrem perseguição por causa da justiça, porque deles é o reino dos céus;
Bem-aventurados sois vós, quando vos injuriarem e perseguirem e, mentindo, disserem todo o mal contra vós por minha causa.(Mt.5)

FIRST READING
Let your anger be appeased
and forgive the iniquity of your people.
Reading of the Book of Exodus 32,7-14
In those days,
7
the Lord spoke to Moses:
"Go, come down, for your people have become corrupt,
which you brought out of the land of Egypt.
8
Very quickly they deviated from the path I prescribed for them.
They made themselves a calf of molten metal,
bowed in worship before him
and they offered sacrifices to him, saying:
'These are your gods, Israel,
who brought you out of Egypt!' "
9
And the Lord said to Moses:
"I see that these are hard-headed people.
10
Let my anger flare up against them
and may I exterminate them.
But I will make a great nation out of you.”
11
But Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, saying:
"Why, O Lord,
your anger flares up against your people,
who brought you out of Egypt
with great power and a strong hand?
12
Do not allow, I pray you, the Egyptians to say:
'It was with evil intent that he took them away,
to make them perish in the mountains
and exterminate them from the face of the earth.'
Let your anger be appeased
and forgive the iniquity of your people.
13
Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel,
to which you bound yourself by oath, saying:
'I will make your descendants
as numerous as the stars in the sky;
and all this land that I told you about,
I will give it to your descendants
as an inheritance forever'".
14
And the Lord gave up on evil
that he had threatened to do to his people.
Word of the Lord.

Acclamation to the Gospel
John 3:16
R. Jesus Christ, you are blessed,
You are the anointed of God the Father!
V. God the world loved so much
who gave him his own Son,
so that whoever believes in him,
find eternal life.
GOSPEL
There is someone who accuses you:
Moses, in whom you place your hope.
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John 5:31-47
At that time, Jesus said to the Jews:
31
"If I bear witness of myself,
my testimony is worthless.
32
But there is another who bears witness to me,
and I know the testimony
What he gives of me is true.
33
You sent messengers to John,
and he bore witness to the truth.
34
I, however, do not depend on the testimony of a human being.
But I speak this way for your salvation.
35
John was a lamp that was lit and shining,
and you gladly rejoiced
for a while with your light.
36
But I have a greater testimony than John;
the works that the Father has given me to do.
The works I do bear witness to me,
showing that the Father sent me.
37
And also the Father who sent me
bear witness in my favor.
You never heard his voice,
you have not even seen his face,
38
and his word found no abode in you,
for you do not believe in him whom he sent.
39
You search the Scriptures,
thinking that in them you possess eternal life.
Yet the Scriptures bear witness to me,
40
but you do not want to come to me to have eternal life!
41
I do not receive the glory that comes from men.
42
But I know
that you do not have the love of God within you.
43
I came in the name of my Father,
and you do not receive me.
But if another came in his own name,
this one you would receive.
44
How can you believe,
you who receive glory from one another
and do you not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
45
Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father.
There is someone who accuses you:
Moses, in whom you place your hope.
46
If you believed in Moses,
you would also believe me,
for it was about me that he wrote.
47
But if you do not believe his writings,
How then will you believe my words?"
