Jesus Christ, you are blessed, You are the anointed of God the Father! V. In the Lord I put my hope, I hope in your word. For in the Lord is all grace and copious redemption.

Reading of the Second Book of Kings 5,1-15a In those days, 1 Naaman, general of the army of the king of Syria, he was a very esteemed man and considered by his lord, because it was through him that the Lord granted victory to the Arameans. But this man, a brave warrior, was a leper. two Now a band of Arameans who had come out of Syria, he had taken captive a girl from the country of Israel. She was in the service of Naaman's wife. 3 She said to her mistress: "Ah, if my lord would introduce himself to the prophet who resides in Samaria, without a doubt, he would free him from the leprosy he suffers from!" 4 Naaman then went to inform his master: "A girl from the country of Israel said this and this." 5 The king of Aram said to him: “Go, I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” Naaman left, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold and ten changes of clothes. 6 And he gave the king of Israel the letter, which said: "When you receive this letter, you will know that I sent you Naaman my servant, that you may cure him of his leprosy." 7 The king of Israel, having read the letter, He tore his clothes and said: "Am I God, perhaps, who can give death and life, for this man to send me a man to cure him of leprosy? It is clear that he is looking for a pretext against me." 8 When Elisha, the man of God, learned that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent to tell him: "Why did you tear your clothes? May he come to me, that you may know that there is a prophet in Israel." 9 Then Naaman arrived with his horses and chariots, and he stood at the door of Elisha's house. 10 Elisha sent a messenger to tell him: "Go, wash seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be healed and you will be clean." 11 Naaman, irritated, left, saying: "I thought he would come out to welcome me and that, standing, he would call on the name of the Lord, his God, and that he would touch with his hand the place of leprosy and heal me. 12 Could it be that the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Farfar, are no better than all the waters of Israel, so I can bathe in them and be clean?" He turned around and left indignantly. 13 But his servants approached him and they said to him: "Lord, if the prophet told you to do a difficult thing, wouldn't you have done it? How much more now that he told you: 'Wash yourself and you will be clean'". 14 Then he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, as the man of God had commanded, and his flesh became like that of a little child, and he was purified. 15a Then he returned with his entire entourage to the man of God. Upon arriving, he presented himself before him and said: "Now I'm convinced that there is no other God in all the earth, but what is in Israel!" Word of the Lord. Responsorial psalm Ps 41(42),2.3; Ps 42(43),3.4 (R. 41[42],3) A. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God: and when will I see the face of God? 41.2 Just as the deer sighs* by running waters, my soul sighs equally * for you, oh my God! A. 3 My soul thirsts for God, * and desires the living God. When will I have the joy of seeing * the face of God? A. 42.3 Send your light, your truth: * they will be my guide; May you take me to your holy mountain, * to your address! A. 4 Then I will go to the altars of the Lord, * God of my joy. I will sing your praise, to the sound of the harp, * my Lord is my God! A. Acclamation to the Gospel Cf. Ps 129(130),5.7 R. Jesus Christ, you are blessed, You are the anointed of God the Father! V. In the Lord I put my hope, I hope in his word. For in the Lord is all grace and copious redemption. GOSPEL Jesus, like Elijah and Elisha, is not sent only to the Jews. Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke 4,24-30 Jesus, coming to Nazareth, said to the people in the synagogue: 24 "Truly I say to you, no prophet He is well received in his homeland. 25 Indeed, I tell you: in the time of the prophet Elijah, when it didn't rain for three years and six months and there was great famine throughout the region, there were many widows in Israel. 26 However, to none of them was Elijah sent, except to a widow who lived in Zarephath, in Sidon. 27 And in the time of the prophet Elisha, There were many lepers in Israel. However, none of them were cured, but rather Naaman the Syrian." 28 When they heard these words of Jesus, everyone in the synagogue was furious. 29 They rose up and drove him out of the city. They took him to the top of the mountain upon which the city was built, with the intention of throwing him over the cliff. 30 But Jesus, passing among them, continued on his way. Word of Salvation.
